Comfortable life in Japan but neighborly relationship is troubling – Tokyo school Teacher Park

There is much knowledge and many rules that may be obvious to Japanese but are completely difficult for foreigners who live in Japan to understand. For example, in Japan you need to separate combustible and non-combustible garbage, and the day you can dispose of them is decided. Or you may want to buy some furniture or daily necessities but do not know where to buy them. Even if you want to go out, there is no information in guide books other than concerning main attractions. We understand that students who just came to Japan may have a lot of troubles like this, so staff who can speak students’ mother tongues are there to support your life in Japan and make it easier.

I also came to Japan from South Korea to study Japanese. I originally had a vague idea about my career path, where I would attend a Japanese college, and when I would go back to my country. However, as I studied in Japan and lived here, I felt I wanted to live here for good. Of course, I did not just choose a job in Japan because life in Japan is comfortable. Even though, I , as most students, agree that life in Japan is comfortable.

The comfort of life in Japan is possible because Japanese society is strong. What supports the society is the rules and knowledge necessary for everyday life such as about garbage disposals. Especially in urbanized Japan where neighborly relations became less friendly, the staff want to support the students in place of your family and neighbors. The 2 year period of student VISA may seem long but it can also seem very short. In order for you to be able to focus your study and design your future, living comfortably is very crucial.
